我們是一群結合教授、醫師、治療師、特教老師的基金會。董事長蔡宜佑教授，在行醫多年的經驗裡，有感於社會上身心障礙者及家屬，非常需要大眾的關懷及支持，總希望能夠盡自己的能力再給他們多一些幫助。於是號召志同道合的專業領域人員，共同成立中杏基金會。成立初期，經費有限，但蒙社會上認同我們的菁英、賢達，捐助成立基金，讓我們能夠「大手幫小手、健康者幫助弱勢者」（基金會標誌代表的意義）。終於在民國96年成立中杏社會福利基金會。 感謝捐助成立基金的醫界前輩:周德陽、周立偉、林正明、黃偉師、楊昌蓁、蔡宜佑
