テロワールとは、生育地の地理、地勢、気候の特徴をさすフランスで生まれた言葉です。環境によって個性が変わりやすいぶどうが原料となるワインの特徴としてよく使われています。うきは市はフランスのワイン産地ボルドーやアルザスとよく似た日本でも非常にめずらしい地質・地形を有していることもあり、うきは市の農業をとりまく環境を「うきはテロワール」と名付けました。こういった農業環境を支える地形を伝承している人があるからこそ、「うきはテロワール」が存続していると考えます。伝承者と受け手をつなぐ媒体として本サイトをつくりました。
